What we do:

Junior Development Tennis Program. SCN has tennis programs for children of all ages, abilities and competitive levels, including the following USTA - United States Tennis Association (USA) programs:

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM - We teach tennis and success.

NJTL – National Junior Tennis League.

This program (co-found-ed by Arthur Ashe and Charles Pasarett in 1969) targets juniors of all ages and combines educational and tennis components.

TENNIS 1-2-3 & RALLYBALL.

Tennis 1-2-3 prepares juniors to play tennis in just 6-12 weeks. This low-cost intro program for new or returned players provides instruction and supervised play. Rallyball is the game of tennis altered to allow beginners to be successful and have fun right away. This format is ideal for 6-12 year-olds and skill levels 1.0-2.5

SCHOOL TENNIS.

In this program, youngsters are introduced to tennis during their physical education classes. SCN also offers an after-school program in partnership with Fulton County called “Odyssey.”

JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS.

Players ages 8-18 are introduced to competitive team tennis in groups based on age and JNTRP ability levels 1.0-5.0. Junior Team Tennis focuses on fun, fitness and the social benefits of tennis and teams can advance to district and regional championships.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT.

Yearly Southern Children Network is partnership with Georgia Tennis Association Minority Participation Committee and Fulton County Parks and recreation presents carnivals and jamborees to the community at no charge. Activities include tennis games, prizes and refreshments. Carnivals are usually held in the Spring and Fall.

OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE.

We are working hard to:

·       Expand programs into new neighborhoods

·       Attract new volunteers

·       Build new school partnerships

·       Increase our financial base through support from community businesses, foundations and fundraising activities; and

·       Expand our after-school programs
